Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has said that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken “bold” step towards inclusion of the youth in the political equation in Nigeria by its recent appointment of four young Nigerians as members of the party’s top national leadership.
Atiku in a statement shared on his social media pages on Friday celebrated the appointment of some Nigerian youths into the National Working Committee of the ADC.
The former Vice President said that the ADC is “not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose,” in its quest to take power ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Said:

“Congratulations to the vibrant young members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC)—Bilyaminu Duhu (Assistant National Youth Leader, North East), Jackie Wayas, (Deputy National Publicity Secretary), Hassana Dada (Assistant National Youth Leader, North Central), David Itopa (Deputy National Welfare Secretary), Hauwa Yusuf, (Deputy National Secretary) and others, on their well deserved appointments to the party’s National Working Committee.
“The ADC is no longer just speaking about youth inclusion; it is now boldly demonstrating it in action. Indeed, the future of our youth must not be shaped in their absence, and I commend the ADC for setting a powerful example by giving them a seat at the table where decisions are made. This is what true leadership looks like, not just talking the talk, but walking it with purpose. “
Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 and 2023 presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), recently resigned from the party and joined the ADC alongside former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark and several of their political acolytes.
