APC Presidential Primary: Speaker Abbas Mobilizes Massive Crowd for Tinubu in Zaria
lists President’s achievements in three years, major projects in North
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Saturday, mobilized thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zaria for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during the party’s presidential primary election.
At a rally held at the Filin Nasara, Zaria, before the commencement of the APC presidential primary election, major APC leaders and stakeholders from Zaria, led by the Speaker, gathered to rally support for the president.
Some stakeholders at the rally, organized by the Speaker, included a former governor of Kaduna State and APC senatorial candidate for Kaduna Zone 1 District, Alhaji Muktar Ramalan Yero; Minister of Environment Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, commissioner at the National Assembly Service Commission; Member representing Zaria City State Constituency Hon. Mahmud Lawal; Member representing Zaria Kewaye State Constituency Hon. Isa Haruna, and Chairman, Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad.
Others were Alhaji Aminu Kalila, APC Chairman in Zaria; Alhaji Yahaya Aminu, member representing Kaduna State at the North West Development Commission; Hon. Mohammed Danasabe Choki, commissioner for the North West at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) civil service; Alhaji Umar Waziri, former accountant-general of Kaduna State; and other stakeholders, among others.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Speaker Abbas said Zaria Federal Constituency and indeed Kaduna State are the luckiest under President Tinubu, noting that all the interventions he attracted to the constituency across healthcare, education, agriculture, roads, transport, youth empowerment, small-business support, security assistance, and social intervention were made possible through the President.
He said, “Today is a significant day in the history of Nigeria’s politics, Kaduna State, and Zaria Federal Constituency. This is the day fixed to affirm the APC presidential candidate at the ward, local government, and state levels across the country.
“Today is historic because the people of Zaria, particularly APC members among us, have come out in thousands to vote for our leader, our father, and our mentor, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to fly the flag of our dear party to continue to lead us in this country.
“I am not surprised to see the mammoth crowd at this venue today, because just like the Hon. Minister of Environment noted, among the 774 local governments in Nigeria, I don’t think there’s any one of them that is as lucky as Zaria under the current APC administration. This is not a political statement; it is a statement of fact. If we look at all facets of human development, it is evident that Zaria is ahead.

“In the area of education, I can say there is no local government or federal constituency that has benefitted from the kind of interventions Zaria has from the President through your representative. With the President’s support and consent, Zaria has so far gotten seven tertiary institutions within this short period. It is also under this administration that Kaduna State got two additional universities, namely the Federal University of Education, Zaria, and the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia.
He added that in agriculture, farmers have received fertilisers, farming inputs, irrigation support, and mechanisation assistance, noting that across rural communities, interventions are helping farmers move from subsistence farming towards commercial productivity.
In the health sector, the Speaker said, President Tinubu has established a new Federal Medical Center in Kaduna State, adding that the recently commissioned 100-bed Renewed Hope Hospital at Dumbin Rauga community in Zaria is also one of the projects executed under the APC government.
He said Kaduna State, particularly Zaria, has benefited from several major appointments under the Tinubu administration, which is why the people of Kaduna State and Zaria should reciprocate by voting massively for the President to get him reelected.
As for infrastructure, Speaker Abbas said under President Tinubu, the North West Development Commission was established to drive reconstruction, infrastructure, and economic growth across the region.
He added that the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway is being revitalised with renewed urgency, while the proposed Sokoto-to-Badagry Highway would connect the North West to Lagos and the Atlantic coast, expanding trade and economic activity.
The Speaker also explained that the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline “promises industrial growth, power generation, and fertiliser production across the North, while the Kaduna-Kano rail project and the wider Kano-Maradi corridor will strengthen transportation, commerce, and regional integration.”
Speaker Abbas also highlighted the President’s achievements in the areas of insecurity, housing, human capital development, among others.
After the rally, the Speaker joined other APC members at his Kwarbai B Ward to vote for the president.
