APC Disqualifies Ben Bruce From Bayelsa East Senate Race, 46 Others Too

The ruling All Progressives Congress has published the list of senatorial aspirants that were disqualified ahead of the primary election scheduled for today, May 19, 2026.5.18

 

A total of 47 aspirants cutting across the six geopolitical zones were disqualified including prominent and known allies of President Bola Tinubu.

 

Among those disqualified include , Senator Ben Murray-Bruce who earlier reigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and joined the APC. Ben Bruce had earlier represented Bayelsa East Senatorial District on the platform of the PDP.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Felix Morka in a statement confirmed the disqualification of the aspirants.

 

Part of Morka’s statement reads:

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) hereby releases the list of Senatorial aspirants not cleared to participate in the Party’s Senate Primary Elections.

 

“The screening exercise was conducted by the Party’s Screening Committees in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.”

 

 

Rivers and Zanfara states recorded the high number of disqualified candidates.

 

According to the list, Messrs,  Oyukaye Flag Amachree, Tamunobaabo Wemike Danagogo, Jack-Rich Tein, and Banigo Ipalibo.were all disqualified in Rivers State.. Zanfara State recorded seven disqualifications as well.
