Anyichuks Means Well for Ebonyi, Will Win 2027 Gov Election, Group Replies Ebonyi Commissioner
The Anyi ‘Ga Emeya Movement, the campaign organisation of the 2027 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State has reiterated the determination of Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the PDP candidate to win the 2027 governorship election in the Southeast state.
In a press statement issued on Sunday by the spokesman of the organisation, Mazi Moses Idika, the organisation reaffirmed its strong belief that the coming of Chief Odii will usher in a new lease of life to Ebonyi State and its people.
The statement which is a reaction to an “open letter” addressed to Chief Odii, by a serving commissioner in Ebonyi State, mR. Oguzor Kanu Offia Nwali, pleading with the PDP candidate to shelve his ambition of contesting the 2027 election against incumbent Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru, the PDP campaign organisation noted that the ambition of Chief Odii was borne out of patriotism and quest for the betterment of Ebonyi State.
According to the organisation, “Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the 2027 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a man well known for his patriotism and undying quest for the emancipation of the people of Ebonyi State from endemic poverty, economic stagnation, situations that have been accessioned by clueless people in governance.
“Chief Odii’s only desire is an Ebonyi State that works for all Ebonyians and every resident who is desirous of progress and development. Like he declared after he was unanimously adopted as the PDP candidate, Dr, Odii is coming to open up Ebonyi State to investment, industrialisation and modernisation. He is not coming to start business for himself, family members and cronies.
We implore Oguzor to use his time to promote the activities, achievements of his ministry as well as that of the current government of Ebonyi State.”
The organisation detailed the trajectory of governorship contests in the state since 1999 noting that the plum position has always been contested by all sections of the state.
The Anyi Ga Emeya Movement advised the officials of the state government and members of the ruling party to base their re-election campaign on performance and not sentiments or “ imaginary zoning” system that continuously fails constitutional test. The organization called on political actors to respect the rights of the people to choose their leaders.

It is another political season and again fake public intellectuals, praise-singers, unsolicited advisers are out for their rampage and business.
Mr. Oguzor Offia Nwali, a serving commissioner in the All Progressive Congress (APC) government of Hon. Ogbonna Nwifuru who combines all the three qualities in poorly scripted diatribe decided to throw the red-herring from the malfeasance that is currently pervading the government in Ebonyi State.
Ordinarily, Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru should sack Oguzor if the intention was indeed to serve the people of Ebonyi State, but the man’s hands seem very tightly tied- who will he sack and who will he retain?
Characters like Oguzor as a commissioner and a senior government official has only brought opprobrium to the government. Despite the humongous funds funneled to the ministry of Commerce and Industry, there is no single deliverable that has been achieved by Oguzor in the last three years!
The only thing attributable to Oguzor is his social media showmanship, self-praises and obscene display of wads of cash in naming ceremonies, burials and birthdays.
In error-ridden unsolicited open letter, Mr. Offia Nwali grandstood by advising the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stand down his well placed ambition to rescue Ebonyi State from the stranglehold of characters of Oguzor’s ilk whose only claim to power is an imaginary zoning system that he feels favours him.
Being that this is a political period where demagogues like Oguzor gloat over the suffering of the poor masses of Ebonyi State, we shall take a few lines to put the records straight.
In decent climes, a man’s heritage shapes their lives, but in the case of Oguzor, he has over time shown cause for the public to doubt his heritage. This is so because, throughout the later part of his life, Dr. Oguzor Offai Nwali, an American-educated and refined politician who is believed to have sired Oguzor was a man who believed strongly in multi-party democracy, hence he was always ready to throw his hat into the ring for the governorship of Ebonyi State. Dr. Offia Nwali believed in democracy and the power of the people to elect their leaders, a cause he stood for till he died. But here we have a man, whose only source of relevance is the surname, yet he despises the culture, and values that the surname represents.
For the purposes of clarity on the imaginary “zoning system” being propagated by Oguzor, since the inception of democracy in 1999, the governorship of Ebonyi State has always been keenly contested by qualified aspirants from across the three senatorial districts of the state,
Indeed as a democracy, since the dawn of democracy in 1999, the governorship seat of Ebonyi State has always been contested by politicians from all corners of the state.
In 1999, Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu from Ebonyi North squared up with late Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu from Ebonyi South, in that election, Dr. Egwu of the Peoples Democratic Party carried the day with 272,559 or 56.12% of the vote. Dr. Onu gannered 213,106 or 43.88% of the total votes.
In 2003, while Dr. Sam Egwu from Ebonyi North was recontesting for his second term, candidates from all parts of the state contested the election with him, including Chief Lawrence Nwuruku, (ANPP, Central), Dr, Offai Nwali (MDJ, Central)
, Felix Ereke (NDP, Cntral) among many others.
In 2007, Chief Martin Elechi was the anointed candidate of the ruling PDP, yet Mr. Emeka Nwankwo of the NDP was on the race, so was Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu of the ANPP, Chief Felix Ereke (RPN, Central), Princes Esther Nwodo Agbo (PRP, North), Chief Charles Okwru (MRDD, Central), Mr. Anthony Oka (APGA, Central), and many others.
In 2011, Chief Elechi was once again recontesting and the following candidates were also on the ballot, Senator Julius Ali Ucha (ANPP, Central), Ambassador Frank Ogbuewu (APGA, Central), Chief Adol Awam, chief Princess Mgbada, Mr. Jude Obasi Nkama, Pricess Esther Nwodo-Agbo, Mrr. Augustine nweze among others.
In 2015, when the so-called zoning was on its strongest point, the contest was stiff as the Governor Martin Elechi government came out smoking hot against the candidacy of Chief David Umahi. Despite the mouthing of zoning, Governor Martin Elechi sponsored Dr. Edward Nkwegu of the Labour Party and deployed state resources to his advantage.
In 2019, 37 candidates contested the election with Chief David Umahi, prominent among who are Senator Sonnie Ogbuoji, Kelvin Opoke, and Chief Akuma Igbota.
In 2023, while the APC fielded Hon Nwifuru, Dr. Benard Odoh (APGA, Central), Senator Obinna Ogba (the closest political associate to Oguzor until he was bought) was keenly contesting same position until the Supreme Court stopped him on his tracks.
We understand that Mr. Oguzor Kanu Offia Nwali is one of those spearheading a dangerous and unfounded narrative that Governor Ogbonna Nwifuru has concluded plans to “ hand over power to an Ezza man in 2031”!
Well, we know that the well educated, urbane and industrious people of Ezza Ezekuna are not that naive to play such politics of self-immolation. That is why, since the time of Dr. Offia Nwali, the Ezzas as seen in Dr. Benard Odoh, Senator Julius Ali Ucha and others, have always showed up to be counted. They understand that political power is never served a la carte! Fact is, the political terrain is a fast-shifting quick sand that demands constant vigilance from all participants. Perhaps, other sections of Ebonyi State may have been made same “promises,” maybe only some characters like Oguzor are the ones shouting to the high heavens while others are busy with the chess game that politics is.
Consequently, it is, important to note that Mr. Offia Nwali, a misguided and horribly under-performing commissioner, should rather concentrate on his legendary mismanagement of public resources (an area he is notoriously popular) instead of trying to curry favour that does not exist.

A man like Oguzor who is not proud of his father’s democratic credentials and belief should never be taken serious, he is a character driven by his pot-belly stomach; his antecedents in office firmly confirms that.
For the 2027 governorship election in Ebonyi State, Chief Ifanyi Chukwuma Odii, Odozi Obodo 1, the PDP flag bearer will contest, he will win, and Ndi Ebonyi will be happy again!
