.REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO AIRPOWER AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has commended the courage and dedication of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel fighting on the frontlines during a morale-boosting visit to the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Addressing the troops, Air Marshal Abubakar praised their resilience and highlighted their pivotal role in securing the nation.
“Your sacrifices are etched in the history of this nation, and in the hearts of millions who sleep safer because of your vigilance,” he said.
He reiterated the strategic importance of airpower in the fight against insurgency and terrorism, stressing that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to enhancing operational capabilities through sustained investment in cutting-edge technology.

“Asymmetric threats require dynamic responses. We will continue to invest in the technology and training necessary to ensure our airmen remain ahead of the curve in modern warfare,” the CAS added.
During the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar held direct interactions with airmen and received operational briefings from field commanders, highlighting recent mission successes and outlining ongoing efforts to maintain superiority in the theatre of operations.
The Air Chief was accompanied by senior officers from NAF Headquarters and used the opportunity to rally further support for the troops from the general public. He stressed that national defence is a collective responsibility.
“Sustaining peace and security is not the burden of the military alone. It is a shared obligation that thrives on unity, leadership, and the selfless service of men and women in uniform,” he stated.
The visit reaffirms NAF’s continued commitment to Operation HADIN KAI and broader efforts to eliminate terrorism and restore lasting peace to the Northeast and beyond.
