Nigerian music star, Yemi Alade has accused Lagos-based radio station, Cool FM and CloutAfrica, a music production company of blacklisting her songs and taking down her “whole catalogue” from their playlist.
In a series of tweets on her X handle, the Jonny crooner accused the managers of the two media outfits, Joseph Adamu of Cool FM and Serge Noujaim of CloutAfrica of being behind the blacklisting of her songs.
Ms. Alade, full name, Yemi Eberechi Alade, in her statement said that she had reached out to du to resolve the disagreement which she said happened ue to their own “Carelessness” but instead of listening to her the two media outfits went ahead to take down her catalogue from the organisations.
She wrote:
“The common decency to reach out and clear out any misunderstanding borne out of sheer carelessness on your part for a whole year and your next move is to place an embargo on my songs? Remove my whole catalogue.
“My God will fight for me, and I will hold peace. Since December 2023…I personally reached out in January … still, you are refusing to play my music and give my team a hard time. You are not gate keepers, and you are not God Mr Serge Noujaim and Mr Joseph Adamu my God will frustrate you all @Coolfm and@cloutafrica.”
“Mr Serge and Mr Joseph, this life is not hard like that. WE SEE YOU… I SEE YOU @cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria. This world is a small village. My God will fight for me… Una dey forms gatekeepers in 2024.”
The two organisations have not reacted to the accusation at press time.
