Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has dissolved his cabinet ahead of the inauguration of the new government in the state scheduled to hold on for Tuesday November 12, 2024
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost the election to Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who takes mantle of leadership in the state on Tuesday after eight years of the Mr. Obaseki’s government.
In an emotion laden motion moved by the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Godwin Omobayo and was seconded by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Osilama Okuofu the curtain fell on the eight-year stewardship of the members of the state executive council.
During the valedictory state executive council meeting was presided over by Mr. Obaseki, the outgoing governor thanked members of his cabinet for standing by him and the people of Edo State throughout his tenure of office.
The outgoing commissioners and head of government agencies took turn to thank Mr. Obaseki for finding them suitable to work with him since 2020. Several gifts and encomiums were also showered on the outgoing governor by members of his cabinet.
