DEVELOPING STORY: Enugu PDP Guber Candidate, Uche Nnaji Arrested at Airport, Whisked Away
Former Minister of Science and Technology and the 2027 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Enugu State, Mr Uche Nnaji, has been reportedly been arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while preparing to board a chartered flight to Abuja.
FACTSHEET learned from sources at the airport that the former minister was taken into custody by plain cloth security operatives .
It is yet clear what security agency arrested Mr. Nnaji and on what grounds.
A report by the Premium Times newspaper indicate that the arrest may be related to a “petition” against the former minister before the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
There has not been any confirmation from the ICPC.
Nnaji was Wednesday June 24, 2026 issued a Certificate of Return during the 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP the Wadata House National Secretariat of the PDP
gathered that the former minister was taken into custody on Wednesday at the airport.
