Mr. Mascot Uzor Kalu, a younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has been screened by the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a governorship aspirant.
The younger Uzor Kalu stated that he was confident making an impressive showing at the polls.
Assuring the party leadership of his readiness to go into the contest with seriousness, the businessman said, “My well-intentioned aspiration to contest the governorship seat of Abia State in 2027 under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), took a victorious step closer today, as I was successfully screened by the Governorship Screening Committee.

“I express my gratitude to the National Chairman of our party, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda; the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashiru; the National Organizing Secretary, His Excellency Suleiman Muhammad Argungu; and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
“My special appreciation also goes to Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, Chairman of the Screening Committee for Non-Sitting Governors’ Governorship Aspirants; Barr. Emeka Okafor, Secretary of the Committee; Hon. Donatus Nwankpa, member of the committee and Abia State representative at the NWC; and other members of the committee for the seamless and credible conduct of the exercise.
“Having successfully scaled this crucial stage, the finishing line is in sight. I assure the National Chairman that I will make the party proud if given the governorship ticket at the upcoming primaries scheduled for May 21.
