President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the aspiration of the lawmaker representing Nasarawa West in the 10th Senate, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu in the latter’s bid to fly the flag of the ruling APC in the 2027 governorship contest.
The endorsement of President Tinubu follows the earlier presentation of the lawmaker to the President at the Aso Rock Villa by Governor Abdulahi Sule, the incumbent governor of Nasarawa State.
Earlier, Governor Sule had announced his preference for the lawmaker who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Public Accounts.
An elated Senator Wadada in a statement on Friday, that the President and Governor Sule noting that he understands the significance of the confidence reposed in him by the two leaders.
Part of the statement reads:
“I was formally presented to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, by His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, today.
“This significant moment reflects not only the confidence reposed in me by my Governor and leader, but also a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between Nasarawa State and the Federal Government.
“Our engagement was marked by productive discussions centered on deepening development efforts, advancing good governance, and delivering tangible dividends of democracy to our people.
“I remain deeply grateful for the trust and support, and I am resolute in my dedication to serving the people of Nasarawa State with integrity, loyalty, and a clear vision for progress.
In a separate statement he issued on Thursday, Senator Wadada thanked the governor for narrowing down on him promising the endorsement by the governor was a “shared responsibility” as he would work in unity with other leaders and the people of the state to achieve victory for his party.
His statement reads:
I receive with deep humility and a profound sense of responsibility the endorsement of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Alhaji Sule, as the preferred aspirant for the gubernatorial ticket of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 elections.
I am sincerely grateful for this demonstration of trust and confidence. It is a call to higher service, one that compels renewed dedication to the peace, unity, and continued development of Nasarawa State. I thank His Excellency for his leadership, foresight, and unwavering commitment to the progress of our dear state.
At this defining moment, I extend my hand of partnership to all stakeholders, leaders, and members of our party across the state. The journey ahead requires collective wisdom, shared sacrifice, and a united front. I humbly seek your support, your prayers, and your counsel as we work together to consolidate on the gains already achieved and build an even more prosperous future for our people.
