Fulani Bandits Reportedly Kill Abducted Zamfara Man, Abba After Receiving N10million Ransom from Family

A native of Zamfara State identified as Musa Usman (Abba)  seen being tortured by some Fulani bandits in a social media video has reportedly died.

Abba was said to have been kidnapped on January 9, 2026 while he was travelling from Gusau, Zamfara State capital to Sokoto. The abducted man, a fashion designer who completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2023 later surfaced in the viral video where he was being tortured by his abductors.

 

According to a family source who spoke the Investigative journalism site, Fij.org, the bandits uploaded the video after family members refused to yield to the ins=discriminate demand of the bandits.

According security analyst’s site, Zagazola, the family of the abducted man announced that they have scheduled and Islamic funeral service for him due to the fact that after the family paid a N10million ransom demanded by the bandits, all communications with the family was cut off by his abductors.

The reports stated that “The family has decided to hold his Janaza prayer on Friday, 6th of March, in accordance with Islamic rules. If Abba is still alive, wherever he may be, may the Lord grant him strength and swift release. If he has passed on, may Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus..”

In a message of appreciation to the general public, particularly those who rallied and supported the family while they made frantic efforts to raise the ransom money, the expressed their gratitude:

“Abba’s family wishes to express profound gratitude to everyone who offered support, prayers, donations and kind words during this difficult period.

 

“May the Almighty reward your generosity abundantly.”

The family disclosed that despite meeting up with the  N10 million ransom money, the bandits made additional demands including three brand new motorcycles, a demand the family declined due to lack of proof of life of the abducted corps member.

 

In the heart-rending video seen by FACTSHEET, the dehumanised   man is seen  speaking in Hausa language as he is  surrounded by bandits who continuously flogged and assaulted him despite his repeated appeals in the name of God.

“Please help me for God’s sake, please help my life. I may soon die in this situation,” the distraught corps member pleaded in agony.

“For the sake of Allah, please help me. For the sake of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), please help me. Please help my life,” he cried.

His abductors in a most heartless manner continued stumping on him while he is being continuously beaten with sticks.
