Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, the lawmaker representing Ondo South in the 10th Senate has revealed that several governors and members of the National Assembly were planning to dump their current political parties and join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senator Ibrahim made the disclosure while featuring on Channels TV programme, Politics Today with Seun Akinbaloye.
Senator Ibrahim who spoke on several burning issues including the Nigerian economy and the recent outburst of former governor of Kaduna State, Malam El Rufai. Speaking on El Rufai’s criticism of Tinubu’s government, Senator Ibrahim said that Malam El Rufai was merely angry over his inability to join Tinubu’s government.
The lawmaker insisted that, despite the fact that the former governor of Kaduna State is a member of the APC, the former governor’s criticism was not a major issue since several people from other political parties were also angling to join the APC.
“You’re not looking at that. You abandoned it completely. You’re not talking about people who have come from the PDP to join us. How about Wike
“Yeah, he said he’s a PDP. I mean, he’s serving in the APC government. How many people like that have been with us and how many governors cross to the APC,” Senator Ibrahim explained.
Revealing that that several members of opposition political parties were planning a crossover to the APC, the Ondo lawmaker said, “How many of them are planning to come? How many senators have now left and planning to come. Some Governors are planning to join APC of course, I don’t want to mention them so that I don’t embarrass people.
“But I can tell you that when I come next, I’m telling you again…when I come back, next time you’ll see governor crossed to APC.”
