2027: NYO Set to Endorse President Tinubu for Second Tenure

The Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has announced that it has concluded plans to endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the crucial 2027 general elections.

 

The NYO in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday and assigned by its National Executive President, Comrade Okorie C. Okorie state that the endorsement will take place during the 2026 International Youth Day slated to be celebrated on Wednesday August 12, 2026.

 

According to the statement, the leadership of the organisation from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) converging at the Banquet Hall of Barcelona Hotel, Wuse II, Abuja.

The statement indicates that distinguished Nigerians would speak on the journey of Nigerian youths so far, with discussions centred on the theme: “The Roles of Nigerian Youth in Consolidating the Gains of Democracy.”

The organisation said it had, over the years, remained committed to advancing the rights of young Nigerians and creating opportunities for their growth, development and progress.

The President said the major highlight of the 2026 celebration would be the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, in recognition of what it described as his creative advancement of opportunities for Nigerian youths through the introduction and implementation of various programmes and policies.

The NYO said some of the initiatives included the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA GIGS) and interventions by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, among other programmes of the administration.

He further commended the Tinubu administration for what it described as its determination and capacity to tackle the country’s security challenges.

The organisation noted that, apart from charging the armed forces to defeat terrorists and bandits, the administration had also approved significant salary increases for military personnel as motivation for them to confront the challenges associated with securing the country.

The NYO said it was pleased to identify with Tinubu on what it described as his patriotism, youth-focused policies and determination to rejuvenate the Nigerian economy.

It added that the policies would create greater opportunities for Nigerian youths to express their creative abilities, earn decent livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to national development.
