The African Action Congress (AAC) has written to President Bola Tinubu to seek the president’s approval for the party to use the Presidential Villa, Abuja to hold the inauguration of the AAC’s Presidential Campaign Council.
The AAC in a letter dated October 21, 2026 and addressed to President Bola Tinubu also appealed to the president to support the event by ensuring that food and drinks were served to attendees.
The letter signed by the National Secretary of the AAC, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpemeinoghena urged President Tinubu to extend the same gestures he had earlier extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to other political parties in the interest of “fairness” and “multiparty democracy.”
“In the spirit of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, and equal treatment of political parties, we also request the provision of food, drinks and other logistical support for participants at the event, consistent with the arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for similar political engagement.
“We believe that granting this request would demonstrate the Presidency’s commitment to fairness, equal access, and the principle that public institutions must serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination,” statement reads in part.
Confirming the correspondence in a social media post, the presidential candidate of the AAC, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, however, revealed that “The Presidency has yet to respond to the request, according to the information contained in the letter.”
