The governor of Kano State, Mallam Abba Yusuf and other top functionaries of the government are currently in a meeting with kingmakers of Kano Emirates over the repeal of the law establishing five emirates in Kano.
Sources close to the government house told FACTSHEET that the meeting which was at the instance of the state governor is a preparatory move before the announcement of a substantive Emir of Kano.
The repeal of the 2019 law which was promulgated with the support of former governor of the state and current National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje has effectively dissolved the additional emirates created by the defunct law.
The Chief of Staff to the Kano State Governor, Shehu Wada Shagari is currently coordinating the activities preparatory to the announcement of the Emir.
