Concerned Jechira APC Youth Movement Condemns Governor Alia’s Utterances During Thanksgiving Mass

In a recent development, the Concerned Jechira APC Youth Movement has voiced its disapproval of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s remarks during a thanksgiving mass and reception held in his honor at St. Gabriel Parish, Tse-Agberagba.

The group specifically criticized Governor Alia and his political ally, Senator Barnabas Gemade, for what they described as divisive rhetoric.

The group in a press statement signed by its Convener, Comrade Festus Atirkyaa Kyume, on Tuesday expressed concern over statements made by the governor and Senator Gemade, which they believe could incite hatred among the Jechira People.

Of particular concern to the group was Governor Alia’s self-designation as “Jechira Governor,” which they viewed as divisive and inappropriate coming from a figure of his stature, particularly considering his background as a priest.

Furthermore, the Concerned Jechira APC Youth Movement reiterated their support for Sen. Dr. George Akume and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging their loyalty to these leaders in their efforts to uplift all Nigerians.

The group also criticized Senator Gemade for what they perceive as self-serving behavior, accusing him of prioritizing personal gain over the interests of Benue State. They urged him to use his experience and wisdom for the betterment of the state, rather than engaging in divisive tactics.

In response to Senator Gemade’s call for physical attacks on the governor’s opponents, the group emphasized the importance of democracy and respect for human rights, calling his statements undemocratic and unacceptable.

The Concerned Jechira APC Youth Movement called on Governor Alia to adopt a more inclusive and democratic approach in his governance, emphasizing the importance of unity and progress for the development of Benue State
