In a move aimed at strengthening youth participation in national development, the Nigeria Youth Organisation (NYO) has pledged its full support for the policies and initiatives of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The commitment was made during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, at his offuce in Abuja on Friday.
The delegation, led by the National Executive President of NYO, Comrade Okorie C. Okorie, was warmly received by the minister. During the meeting, Comrade Okorie acknowledged Olawande’s dedication to youth empowerment and commended his efforts in driving policies that uplift young Nigerians.
A Commitment to Security and Nation-Building
One of the key highlights of the visit was the presentation of NYO’s 2025 emblem, which carries a strong message on security. The emblem bears the inscription:
“Adequate Security: A Collective Responsibility for All Nigerian Youths.”
“As a Nigerian Youth, I Pledge to Support the Renewed Hope Nigeria Mantra of Making Security a Collective Responsibility.”
Okorie emphasized that security is not the responsibility of the government alone but requires the active participation of young Nigerians. He stressed that NYO is committed to sensitizing youths across the country on the need to contribute positively to national peace and security.
Endorsement of the Renewed Hope Agenda

The NYO leadership used the occasion to reaffirm its support for the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to Okorie, the organization is committed to working alongside the government to ensure that youth-focused policies and programs are successfully implemented.
“We recognize the efforts of the Honourable Minister in championing youth development, and we want to assure him of our unwavering support. The Nigeria Youth Organisation remains a vanguard for the well-being of young people across the country, and we are ready to collaborate with the government to drive positive change,” Okorie stated.
Participation in the National Youth Confab
The NYO also announced its readiness to actively participate in the forthcoming National Youth Confab, a strategic gathering aimed at discussing policies and initiatives for youth empowerment. Okorie assured the minister that NYO, which has a presence in all 36 states and the FCT, will mobilize its members to contribute meaningfully to the discussions.
A Legacy of Youth Advocacy
Founded in December 1980 as a trustee-based youth organization, NYO has remained a strong voice for young Nigerians, advocating for unity, excellence, and patriotism. Over the years, the organization has played a key role in promoting dialogue among youth groups and fostering national cohesion.
As the meeting concluded, the Honourable Minister expressed his appreciation for NYO’s visit and assured the delegation of the government’s commitment to working with credible youth organizations to build a better future for Nigerian youths.
With the support of organizations like NYO, the government’s vision of empowering the youth and fostering national unity is set to gain greater momentum in the years ahead
