Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has described his 2023 running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as an outstanding “patriot and visionary leader” who has left his mark on the annals of history books.
Atiku in a birthday message to Okowa who is the immediate past governor of Delta State as he celebrates his 62nd birthday prayed for good health and successes for the former federal lawmaker.
In a statement published on his social media handles on Monday, Atiku said [I’m] “wishing a very happy 65th birthday to an outstanding patriot and visionary leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Your legacy as the former Governor of Delta State speaks volumes about your dedication and commitment to the people. May you enjoy many years of good health, and success.”
Both Atiku and Okowa ran a tension-soaked campaign for Nigeria’s highest office while bracing a divided PDP and an unprecedented challenge from rival Labour Party (LP).
The PDP candidate came second to the All Progressives Congress (APC) that was declared the winner of the keenly contested election by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
