Yahaya Bello, the immediate past governor of Kogi State has pleaded not guilty to the 16-count charge levelled him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over his involvement in an alleged N110 billion fraud he allegedly perpetrated during his eight-year rule in Kogi State.
Bello was arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The former governor who has been engaged in intrigues and games with the EFCC finally submitted himself to the anti-graft agency on Tuesday.
He had evaded arrest allegedly with the aide of his successor and protégé, Governor Usman Ododo.
He was subsequently declared wanted by the EFCC.
