Women Affairs Ministry Partners with US for Sunflower Export

 

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has formed a partnership with Atlanta, Georgia, to cultivate and export Sunflowers and Jatropha Curcas.

The partnership was announced by the Minister, Barrister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye at a Capacity Building Workshop in Abuja, with the initiative aim to secure funding for women-owned businesses, reduce poverty, and boost Nigeria’s economy.

The project will involve growing these plants in designated areas, with profits distributed among participants. The Ministry is also working with the Federal Executive Council to obtain land and is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

Kennedy-Ohanenye encouraged State Commissioners to utilize previously distributed equipment to aid grassroots women. This project supports President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is expected to significantly enhance women’s empowerment and national prosperity.
