C-Don Adinuba, former Commissioner for Information in Anambra State has debunked rumours that the immediate past governor of the state, Mr. Willie Obiano is dead.
Adinuba said that contrary to online reports, Mr. Obiano is “hale and hearty” and currently in Houston, Texas United States.
The former commissioner spoke to the Punch Newspaper on Friday evening.
Mr. Obiano served as the governor of the South-East state between 2014 and 2022. He was succeeded by current governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
Some Online reports say that the former governor had died in a London hospital, aged 70.
However, Adinuba told Punch that, “I have been asked some probing questions by journalists and have heard a provocative rumour about the death of former Governor Willie Obiano. The rumour is not true. I just spoke with the former governor and members of his family a few minutes ago. He is hale and hearty in Houston, United States, where he resides.”
