The Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Alhaji Bala Mohammed has said that the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike is a “frustrated politician.”
The Bauchi State governor, however, said that despite the disagreement the former governor of Rivers State remains his friend.
Mohammed played host to members of the PDP National Working Committee who paid his a visit at the Government House Bauchi, reiterated his position that Bauchi State remains firmly a PDP state with enough water to quench the fire of any crisis.”
The governor said that the PDP was responsible for the development recorded in Nigeria in the last 25 years and assure that the party will not die.
According to Governor Mohammed, “When we argue, it’s never personal, and no one should misunderstand that. We are united; this is not a splinter group.
“As you can see, we are united in Bauchi. No one can set Bauchi on fire. Bauchi has enough water to put out any fire. My friend who made that comment is simply frustrated. Perhaps I said something that upset him, but it’s not personal.
“My friend remains my friend, my work is my work, and leadership remains leadership.”
The National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Mr. Kamaldeen Ajibade Adeyemi, SAN, assured the Bauchi governor of the support of the party for the governors stressing that, “We believe it is important to stand with you and to let you know that whatever steps the Governors’ Forum takes, we, as the National Working Committee, will always be ready to implement them.”
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State had flayed up a fortnight ago threatening to “put fire” in any state where its governor supports Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State over his personal interest. Wike has insisted that he personally built the PDP structure in Rivers State and would never allow anyone to take over the structure even though he is currently a minister in the All Progressive Congress (APC) of President Bola Tinubu.
