WAEC Joins JAMB Adopts CBT for WASSC Examinations
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it has adopted Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for its examinations.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday, West Africa’s biggest external examination body indicated that its forthcoming WASSCE for private candidates will be conducted using the CBT mode “In line with global best practices.”
“The Nigeria National Office of the West African Examinations Council wishes to inform the general public, and all its stakeholders, that it has concluded plans to migrate its WASSCE for Private Candidates Examination Diets from Paper and Pencil Test to Computer Based Examination” the statement reads in part.
The statement further indicates that “the examination will be conducted in urban centres/cities and candidates with special needs have been factored into the plan.”
Registration for the examination is will commence on Monday December 18, 2023.
Also, as part of the take off plans, the examination said it will conduct a mock CBT examinations in February 2024 to enable intending students familiarize themselves with the new system.
