Rights Activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress party (AAC), Comrade Omoyele Sowore has described the Sunday nationwide broadcast of President Bola Tinubu over the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests as a “JOKE.”
Sowore who featured on the AIT programme, Democracy Today also decried the wanton killing of protesters by security operatives especially the police as condemnable and unwarranted.
Sowore noted that security operatives’ killing of innocent and unarmed Nigerian protesters were merely a “loan action” that will eventually be paid by the perpetrators.
Hailing the protesters, the #RevolutionNow organiser noted that it was the first tine both the North and Southern Nigeria are united in calling for the end of bad governance in Nigeria. He noted that “The north and the south is on the same accord, the protest in the north is peaceful.”
He called on various labour unions including the Academic Staff of Universities and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) to join the protest to further push home the demands of the people.
The AAC presidential candidate said that Nigerians will continue the protest on Monday as already planned.
