The presidency has debunked the rumour that President Bola Tinubu has asked the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso to resign over the mismanagement of the economy
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, in a statement posted on his X handle Wednesday.
According to Onanuga, “It’s all lies. President Tinubu has not asked Yemi Cardoso to resign.”
There have been speculations that the fumbling Naira and overall near-collapse of the economy have compounded discomfort in President Bola Tinubu’s administration with some people demanding the resignation of the CBN governor
