Suspected Armed Fulani Herdsmen Invade Nasarawa Community, Cut off Woman’s Hand, Injure Others

Yet to be identified suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked a farming community in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State leaving in their trail injuries and a community in panic.

According to reports, Barki Abdullahi (BAD) community, a quiet farming settlement was thrown into panic on Saturday as the herdsmen invaded farms, matchetted farmers seen in their farms and left a woman with a severed hand.

An eyewitness account stated that the woman, whose hand was chopped off with a machete, was among those rushed to a nearby clinic for emergency treatment

A resident identified as Esla, confirmed the incident and described it as “heartbreaking and unprovoked” as the community had not previously engaged in any conflict with anyone.

Esla and other residents of the community have cried out to both the Federal Government and the Nasarawa State Government to come to their rescue and deploy government security to forestall further attacks  or escalation of conflict the area.

At press time neither the government nor any of the security agencies has reacted to the incidents.
