The Supreme Court has dismissed a suit filed by 16 states challenging the legality of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A panel of 7-man justices led by Honourable Justice Uwani Abba-Aji in a unanimous decision dismissed the suit for for lacking merit.
Ondo, Edo, Oyo, Ogun, Nasarawa, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto, Jigawa, Enugu, Benue, Anambra, Plateau, Cross River and Niger States are among the states that approched the apex Court for interpretation of the legality of the establishment of the EFCC.
