Supreme Court Affirms Election of Three Governors
The Supreme Court on Thursday affirmed the election of three governors.
The court ruled that Governors Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State, Agbu Kefas of Taraba State and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State were all duly elected.
In the appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Saidu Umar against the Sokoto State governor, Justice Tijani Abubakar ruled that the appeal lacked merit and subsequently dismissed it.
While ruling on the appeal filed by the Mr. Yahaya Sani, the givernorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Justice Lawal Garba dismissed the appeal for being shoddy negligent.
Similarly, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa dismissed the appeal filed by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Patrick Tonye-Cole.
