The Super Eagles on Monday qualified for the quarter-finals of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), after drubbing Mozambique 4-0.
The win signifies was symbolic as it was the first the Nigerian national team would be winning their first four fixtures at the continental tournament’s history.

Atalanta FC forward, Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute through a pass from Akor Adams, while Osimhen doubled the score the Super Eagles before the half time break.
Victor Osimhen doubled the advantage five minutes later, before Lookman set up Osimhen again in the 47th minute to make it three. Adams Akor completed the scoring with Nigeria’s fourth in the 75th minute.
The Super Eagles will now wait for the winner of Burkina Faso vs DR Congo in the quarter-finals.
