The Speaker commended Orelope-Adefulire for her services to the public, first as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation from 2003 to 2011, and later as Deputy Governor of Lagos State between 2011 and 2015.

Speaker Abbas noted that her sterling performance at the state level inspired her appointment as SSA on SDGs by President Muhammadu Buhari in March 2016, and retaining the office under the incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

While the Speaker lauded Orelope-Adefulire’s immense contributions to the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the state and national levels, he said the ruling party needs more women like her in politics and governance of the country.

The Speaker prayed to God to grant Orelope-Adefulire more years on earth, in sound body and mind.
