The Senate has shifted the debate a motion on recent proclamation state of emergency in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

The motion sponsored by the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) was shifted till 3pm to enable the Senate deliberate on other issues on the Senate Order Paper.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio who presided had earlier put the matter to vote after the motion to shift debate on the Rivers crisis was moved and seconded on the floor.
