Senate Minority Leader Pays Tribute to Ogbonnaya Onu, Says He Was á Perfect Gentleman’
Senate Minority Leader and lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro has described former Minister of Science and Technology and APC presidential aspirant, Chief Ogbannaya Onu, as a ‘perfect gentleman and a pious family person imbued with humility and a great sense of responsibility’.
Senator Moro stated this in his tribute to the former Minister on the floor of the Senate.
“It’s with surprise and shock that I heard of the demise of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. Like water, Dr. Onu had no enemy. He contributed immensely to the development of Nigeria and, in the process, made a lot of sacrifices that many Nigerians may not likely do. We have lost a great patriot, a nationalist and a gentleman to the core,” he stated.
The senator acknowledged receipt of a congratulatory message from late Dr. Onu when he emerged Senate Minority Leader, a message he said he was very grateful for. He said he was looking forward to hosting the deceased, as they both agreed, unfortunately death struck.
The Senate Minority Leader extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, friends and associates of the deceased at this moment of grief. He prayed God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable and irreparable loss. He said Dr. Onu’s death was a loss not only to the family but the entire country
