Reps Speaker Expresses Sadness Over Demise of Environment Minister’s Mother

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Hajiya Dayyaba, mother of the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal.

 

Hajiya Dayyaba passed away on Sunday evening. Her funeral prayer was held at the Emir of Zazzau’s Palace in Zaria.

Speaker Abbas, Governor Uba Sani, the Minister of Environment; former governors Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi and Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Dahiru Yuauf Liman; Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli; some members of the Kaduna State Executive Council, Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad, chairmen of some LGAs, were among the dignitaries who attended the funeral prayer.

 

In a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker described the late Hajiya Dayyaba as a great mother who raised a community of leaders.

“I received the news of the passing of Hajiya Dayyaba, mother of the Honourable Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal, with deep sorrow but complete submission to Allah’s decree.

 

“Hajiya Dayyaba was an exceptional woman—a pillar of faith, humility, and compassion. She lived a life marked by service to humanity, sincere kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.

 

“Her warmth, strength of character, and gentle heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, leaving behind an enduring legacy.

 

“To the Honourable Minister and the entire family, please accept my sincere condolences. May Allah grant you comfort, patience, and peace in this period of grief.

 

“We ask Allah, the Most Merciful, to overlook her shortcomings, reward her good deeds, and grant her a lofty place in Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
