President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived Ghanaian capital, Accra, to take part in the 6th mid-year meeting of the African Union (AU).
Tinubu hard earlier departed the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and a few hours later arrived the Kotoka International Airport, Accra on Saturday afternoon.
President Tinubu is attending the meeting in dual capacity as he is the current Chairman of the West Africa, regional body, the Economic Committee of West African States (ECOWAS).
According to a media statement issued by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the Nigerian leader was received at the airport by the Ghanaian Deputy Minister of Education, Prof Kingsley Nyarko; Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tugar and Charge D’Affaires, Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, Ambassador Dayo Adeoye accompanied by other senior officials.
The statement also indicates that “In his capacity as the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Tinubu will address the meeting on the status of regional integration across various areas in Africa.”
According to Ngelale, President Tinubu will present the ‘2024 Report on the State of the Community,’ focusing on peace, regional security, governance, economic integration, humanitarian and social development, energy, mines and agriculture.
