Plateau Killings a ‘Genocide’, Must be Stopped- Sen Natasha Akpoti-Uguaghan

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has condemned the unending killings  in Plateau State  describing it as a “genocide” which culprits must be brought to justice.

In a statement she shared on her social media page, the embattled Kogi Central lawmaker commiserated with the governor and people of Plateau state over the killings.

She called on the government to “deploy a multi-pronged approach to address the economic, legal , security and social factors” behind the unfortunate killings.

She wrote, “An unpopular opinion on the Plateau killings: it’s a genocide, like many others, masked as an ethic or religious attack but likely sponsored by capitalists’ hungry for mineral extraction and resource control. Thus, the killings stand condemned and we urge that those culpable should be brought to justice.

“However, to stop this menace, Government must deploy a multi-pronged approach to address the economic, legal , security and social factors.

“Our hearts go out to Plateau state as we commiserate with the victims, families and Gov. Mutfwang.”

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has been enmeshed in a fight with the President of the Senate, Goswill Akpabio whom she has accused of sexually harassing her as well as plotting to kill her using the former governor of Kogi State, Mr. Yahaya Bello.
