Paetongtarn Shinawatra Becomes Thailand’s Youngest Prime Minister at 37

 

 

Paetongtarn Shinawatra was on Friday elected as Thailand’s new Prime Minister, making history as the country’s youngest leader at just 37 years old. the election marks the Shinawatra family’s return to power, haven dominated Thai politics for over two decades.

 

Her father, Thaksin Shinawatra, was ousted in a 2006 military coup, and her aunt, Yingluck Shinawatra, faced a similar fate in 2014. Now, Paetongtarn, also known as ‘Ung Ing’, becomes the second female Prime Minister after her aunt.
