Olympics: US Defeats Brazil to Win Gold in Women’s Football

The U.S. Female football team defeated Brazil in the women’s football final to win the Olympic gold on Saturday.

The gold medal became the first for the Americans since 2012.

Mallory Swanson gave the U.S. the lead on the 57th minute in a game dominated by the hard-fighting Americans.

The Brazilians had their 15th minute goal cancelled for offsides. Despite the introduction of Veteran Brazillian icon, Marta in the 61st minute, the US squad held sway and carried the day.
