The National Executive Committee (NEC), of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has ratified the appointment of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yiltwada, as National Chairman of the party.
Yilewada a native of Plateau State replaces Dr Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano State), who resigned on June 27 on health grounds.

Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum PGF, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, made the nomination at the ongoing NEC meeting of the APC at the presidential villa while the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen seconded the nomination.
Members of the APC from the North Central geopolitical zone have been agitating that they be allowed to produce the National Chairman of the party on the strength that they gave the APC its highest vote in the 2023 general elections.
