Chief Tom Ikimi, the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Peoples democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that no one has petitioned the committee against former governor of Rivers State and minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike.
Ikimi in a statement he personally signed also said that the committee has shifted its planned interaction with the National Secretary of the party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu and his contender and former National Youth Leader, S.K.E Ude Okoye to March 4, 2025.
Chief Ikimi noted that the disciplinary committee does not act on hearsay or rumour but on petitions written against members of the party which is what the jurisdiction of the committee allows.
According to Chief Ikimi: “Whether acts were committed against the party in 2015, 2019, 2020, or any other year, we can do nothing about them except if there are petitions sent to this Committee.”
Speaking on the invitation of Senator Anyanwu and former governor of Benue State, Mr. Samuel Ortom the disciplinary committee chairman said that both invitee could not come due to issues relating to health.
