The Department of State Services (DSS) has moved Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who was convicted of terrorism charges on Thursday by the Federal High Court, Abuja.
FACTSHEET reported that Nnamdi Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment by the presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho.

Confirming the new development, Kanu’s lawyer, Alloy Ejimakor in a socail media post alerted that, “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has just been moved from DSS Abuja to the correctional facility (prison) in Sokoto; so far away from his lawyers, family, loved ones and well-wishers.”
Another source who craved anonymity also confirmed to the Daily Trust newspaper that “It’s true. That’s all I can say for now but please don’t quote me,” the source affirmed.
Justice Omotosho who agreed with the request of Federal Government’s lawyers told security operatives to ensure that Kanu was confined in a “protective custody” for the rest of his life.
