The suspect, Hauwa Sani, a resident of Doro village along the Keffi/Abuja Expressway, was found in possession of 124 rounds of live ammunition of various calibres, concealed inside a 5-litre container of palm oil.
She was intercepted by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department, Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS) on December 23, 2024, at about 5:50 PM. During interrogation, Sani confessed that one Nasiru of Daura instructed her to deliver the ammunition to Katsina State.
This development was disclosed in a statement released on March 18, 2025, by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. He further revealed that ongoing investigations have led to several other recoveries and arrests, which are currently undergoing profiling.

Additionally, on February 3, 2025, the FID-STS operatives arrested three more suspects: Yusuf Dantani, 24; Usman Labaran, 32; and Musa Mohammed, 23. The suspects admitted to receiving ₦3,980,000 for the last batch of arms they intended to trade.
The police highlighted these successes as part of their proactive efforts to combat crime, disrupt criminal networks, and ensure the safety and security of all citizens through specialized units like the FID-STS.
The Force urged citizens to remain vigilant, be wary of criminal elements around them, and report suspicious activities or items to the appropriate authorities. The police also called on the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by providing timely and accurate information that could aid in crime prevention and detection.
