NFSS Boss Felicitates NSCDC Chief Audi on Reappointment, Seeks Stronger Forest Security Collaboration

The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), Dr. Joshua Osatimehin, has congratulated Prof. Abubakar Audi on his reappointment for a second five-year term as Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Dr. Osatimehin delivered the commendation during a courtesy visit to the NSCDC headquarters, accompanied by members of his management team. He described Prof. Audi’s reappointment as well-deserved, citing his exceptional leadership, dedication, and the significant milestones recorded during his first tenure.
According to the NFSS boss, the renewal of Audi’s mandate reflects confidence in his ability to further strengthen the NSCDC’s role in safeguarding national assets and critical infrastructure. He emphasized the need for deeper collaboration between the NFSS and NSCDC, particularly in enhancing intelligence gathering and coordinated operations within Nigeria’s vast forest regions, which have increasingly become flashpoints for criminal activities.
Dr. Osatimehin also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for their ongoing efforts to improve the country’s security architecture. He reaffirmed the NFSS’s commitment to supporting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in protecting lives and property in forested and rural communities.
In his response, Prof. Audi expressed gratitude for the visit and goodwill extended by the NFSS leadership. He noted that collaboration between security agencies remains critical in addressing emerging security threats across the country.
The NSCDC Commandant General pledged continued partnership with the NFSS, particularly in the areas of personnel training and retraining, intelligence sharing, and joint operations. He stressed that such cooperation would significantly enhance the protection of critical national infrastructure and forest reserves.
Both leaders agreed that strengthening inter-agency synergy is vital to achieving sustainable security and stability, especially in vulnerable and hard-to-reach areas across Nigeria.
