Nigeria’s former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has teken a swipe at the factional National Chairman of the his new party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), mR. Naifiu Bala alleging that the later was now moving with a convoy similar to that of serving governors.
Mr. Bala whose court actions recently sacked the Senator David Mark led National Working Committee (NWC) of ADC) has been variously accused of yielding himself to agents that are bent on collapsing the opposition in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on the “new” flamboyant lifestyle of Mr. Bala, the former Vice President in an interview with German State media, DW (Hausa Service) alleged that the factional chairman’s lifestyle is being bankrolled by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Atiku stated that “So far, people from all states are still joining the party. Nothing has happened to suggest that Nigerians are withdrawing their support. Not at all.”

“What is happening is external interference. Some individuals have been bought over and used because certain interests have noticed that the party is gaining momentum by the day. They see this growth as a threat if it continues.”
The former Vice President queried the source of Bala’s security and resources, suggesting undue influence
Atiku maintained the that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was being threatened by the rising profile of the ADC among Nigerians, reiterating that, despite machinations of external forces the popularity of the ADC continues to grow across the country.
