Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu Escape Death in Ibadan Plane Crash

A private jet operated by Flint Aero Nigeria which took off from the Nnnmdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja on Friday night crash landed at the Samuel  Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan.

The aircraft with seven passengers and three crew members, including the Minister of Power, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu crashed around 9.15 pm on its approach to the runway.

A source at the Government House, Agodi Ibadan told FACTSHEET that rescue efforts which were immediately deployed to the scene of the accident saved the lives of all the passengers and crew of the aircraft.

The source also confirmed that the pilot of the aircraft was given clearance to land before the incident.

Ibadan Airport, according to an aviation expert who spoke on the condition of anonymity is “not really ready for night operations.”

As at press time there has not been any official communication from the Federal Airport Authority (FAAN) or the Oyo State Government.
