Min of youth Olawande praises Queen Tejuosho’s Humanitarian Impact as She Bags Honorary Doctorate in Abuja
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has lauded philanthropist Queen Halimat Adenike Tejuosho for her unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, particularly her support for persons with disabilities across Nigeria.
Dr. Tejuosho was conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in Transformational Leadership, Social Work, and Community Service at a colourful ceremony held at the Nigerian National Merit House, Maitama, Abuja. The event was organised by the Institute of Leadership Manpower and Management as part of its 29th Leadership Manpower Award Celebration.
The recognition, according to the organisers, is in acknowledgement of Dr. Tejuosho’s outstanding contributions to community development, social justice advocacy, and empowerment of vulnerable populations.

In his remarks, Minister Olawande commended Dr. Tejuosho’s dedication to uplifting underserved communities, noting that her work aligns with the Federal Government’s vision for inclusive development. He described her as a shining example of how private citizens can complement government efforts in driving meaningful social change.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Tejuosho emphasised that effective leadership is rooted in listening, patience, and mentorship. She cited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an exemplary leader whose mentorship and leadership style have inspired many. She encouraged emerging leaders to invest in mentoring others, stressing that mentorship played a transformative role in her personal and professional journey.
Through her QAT Foundation, Dr. Tejuosho has championed several life-changing initiatives, including the award of scholarships to indigent students, vocational training programmes for women and youths, and the provision of assistive devices to persons with disabilities. These interventions have significantly improved livelihoods and expanded opportunities for beneficiaries nationwide.
The well-attended ceremony drew prominent dignitaries from across sectors, with Minister Olawande also receiving recognition at the event.
Observers say the honour bestowed on Dr. Tejuosho reflects a growing appreciation for philanthropic leadership in Nigeria and underscores the importance of collaboration between government and private initiatives in advancing national development.
