Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has declared Friday, September 4th as work-free day ahead of the scheduled September 5th local government election in the state.
According to a press statement issued kin Makurdi on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Mr. Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia said that the work-free was declared to enable the electorate travel to their respective local government areas to exercise their voting right.
The governor reiterated the importance of citizens participation in the electoral process and encouraged all citizens to take advantage of this work-free day to exercise their civic responsibility.
