Leadership Crisis: Labour Party is ‘Terribly Managed’- Dr. Sam Amadi
Social critic and Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Dr. Sam Amadi, has taken a swipe at the leadership of the Labour Party (LP) over the suspension of the party’s national Treasurer, Oluchi Opara after she accused the National Chairman, Julius Abure, of misappropriating N3.5 billion campaign funds.
The leadership of the party has been enmeshed in all manner of crises since the 2023 general elections that saw the party emerge as strong political force.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Obiora Ifoh had in a statement on Wednesday announced a six months suspension slammed on Opara for daring to confront the party leadership over how party funds were spent.
Reacting on the escalating crisis in the LP, Dr. Amadi in a statement shared on his X handle, said that the party is being terribly managed.
“Sadly, the LP has been terribly managed. There’s absolute lack of leadership. Yes APC may have tried to undermine it. But its leadership has been awful,” Amadi wrote.
The fiery lawyer and former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), was a staunch supporter of the LP and its presidential candidate during the build up to the 2023 general elections.
