The leadership and major stakeholders of the Labour Party (LP) have summoned and emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party in Abuja.
In the notice signed by the duo of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the party and Governor Alex Otti of Abia State indicates that the NEC meeting is scheduled for Wednesday April 9, 2025 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The notice also indicates that members of the party expected at the meeting include the Vice presidential candidate, members of the National and State Assemblies, candidates of the party, leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), leadership of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), leadership of the party at both national and state levels amongst others.
The Supreme Court last week sacked Mr. Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the party paving way for the Senator Nenadi Usman led Caretaker Committee of the party to take charge of the affairs of the party.
