The two royals have been locked in a war of wit over the throne of the Kano Emirate as the political camps of the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje who installed Ado Bayero and the current governor of the state, Mallam Abba Yusuf who reinstated Sanusi II continue to work to outdo each other in Kano.
Feelers from Kano indicate that Muslim faithful may not troupe out in large numbers as usual to the royal mosque to avoid being caught up in any crisis.
Since the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi II, security has been beefed up in Kano especially around the palace.
