Sen Ifeanyi Ubah Dies in London, Aged 52

 

 

The lawmaker representing Anambra South in the Senate, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has died in a London hospital.

The ebullient lawmaker was in London to attend the graduation ceremony of his daughter.

Late Ifeanyi Ubah was in Otolo, Nnewi, in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Ubah rose to prominence in during the time of President Goodluck Jonathan when he played active role in ameliorating Nigeria’s dpmestic energy crisis by using his petroleum company, Capital Oil and Gas Limited to distribute petroleum products, especially petrol and kerosene across Nigeria.

He later joined forces to form Transformation Agenda of Nigeria (TAN) which supported the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

He was the pillar of the Young Democratic Party (YPP). He was elected to the Senate on the platform of the YPP.

After his re-election to the Senate in 2023 he announced he was defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). And in January 2024 he announced his ambition to contest for the governorship election in his home state of Anambra
